Best compact flagship
NewA 6.3-inch, 167 g phone with the 2 nm Exynos 2600, a 3x telephoto, IP68 and seven years of updates, from Rs. 1,39,999. The trade-off is a 4,300 mAh battery and 25 W charging.

Best under 50,000
The only Galaxy under 50,000 with a 120 Hz AMOLED screen, plus 5G, 8 GB RAM, an OIS camera and 4K video, from Rs. 41,999. It has no IP rating.
Best under 30,000

Best Samsung phones by budget
Under 30,000 to 40,000: Galaxy A07 and A08
Two Galaxy phones cost less than 40,000, and both are 4G only. The Samsung Galaxy A07 starts at Rs. 25,499 for 4/64 GB. It has a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD at 90 Hz, a Helio G99 chip, a 5,000 mAh battery with 25 W charging, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and IP54 splash resistance.
The Samsung Galaxy A08 starts at Rs. 34,499 and is the better phone if you can find it. It has a 6,000 mAh battery, IP64 dust and water resistance, a dedicated microSD slot and Android 17 out of the box, so its six years of updates run a year later than the A07's. Stock was low in October 2026, and the 128 GB versions cost more than 40,000.

Under 50,000: Galaxy M36 5G, A17 5G and M17 5G
This is where 5G starts. The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G at Rs. 41,999 is our pick. It is the only phone in this band with a 120 Hz AMOLED screen, and it pairs the Exynos 1380 with 8 GB RAM, an OIS main camera and 4K video. Its weak point is that it has no IP rating, so keep it away from rain.
The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G (Rs. 44,999 for 6/128 GB) is the one to get if you want IP54 splash resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+. The Samsung Galaxy M17 5G (Rs. 43,999) is similar, with IP54 and a 90 Hz AMOLED screen. All three have 5,000 mAh batteries, 25 W charging, microSD slots and six years of updates.

Under 1 lakh: the Galaxy A sweet spot
Between 50,000 and 1 lakh, the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the best value at Rs. 53,999. Its Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 45 W charging and IP67 rating beat the newer Samsung Galaxy A27 5G, which has the same chip but costs more (Rs. 65,999) and has only 25 W charging and IP64.
Spend more and the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G (Rs. 71,999) adds an aluminium frame, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera instead of 8 MP, Wi-Fi 6E and eSIM support. The 2026 Samsung Galaxy A57 5G (Rs. 96,999) is the slimmest at 6.9 mm and 179 g, with the Exynos 1680 and a 1,900-nit screen. The Samsung Galaxy A37 5G (Rs. 86,999) sits between them with the Exynos 1480.
Skip the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G. It is a 2023 phone with 25 W charging and fewer years of updates left, and it costs more than the A36 5G.

Under 1.5 lakh: Galaxy S without the Ultra price
This band gets you a Galaxy S phone with IP68 and seven years of updates. The Samsung Galaxy S26 (Rs. 1,39,999) is the newest and smallest, with the Exynos 2600 and a 3x telephoto. The Samsung Galaxy S25 (Rs. 1,04,999) has the Snapdragon 8 Elite in an even lighter 162 g body, but only a 4,000 mAh battery and a 128 GB base model.
If battery matters more than size, the FE models have 6.7-inch screens, 4,900 mAh batteries and 45 W charging: the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE (Rs. 1,19,999, Exynos 2500, launched on Android 17) and the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE (Rs. 1,07,999, Exynos 2400). Both have 8 GB RAM, against 12 GB in the S26 and S25.

Above 1.5 lakh: Ultras and foldables
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (Rs. 2,24,999) is the phone to buy for the best camera, the S Pen and the fastest charging in the range. Its Privacy Display also hides the screen from people beside you. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (Rs. 1,84,999) keeps the same camera layout and S Pen with a titanium frame. The Samsung Galaxy S26+ was out of stock when we checked.
For a foldable, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 (Rs. 1,54,999) is the lowest-priced one in stock, with a 4.1-inch cover screen. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 (Rs. 1,94,999) is lighter at 180 g and uses the Exynos 2600. Book-style Folds start with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 at Rs. 2,59,999. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 has a wider 7.6-inch 4:3 screen, and the Fold8 Ultra adds a 5,000 mAh battery and 45 W charging. All are rated IP48, which means they are not dust-tight.

Galaxy S, Z, A and M: the four series explained
- [Galaxy S](/smartphones/galaxy-s/): Samsung's flagships. Every current model has IP68 and seven years of updates. The Ultra adds the S Pen and a 200 MP camera, and the FE models are lower-priced versions with bigger batteries than the base S.
- [Galaxy Z](/smartphones/galaxy-z/): the foldables. The Flip folds a full-size phone in half to fit a small pocket, and the Fold opens into a 7.6- to 8-inch tablet. They cost more than a bar phone with similar specs and are rated IP48 rather than IP68.
- [Galaxy A](/smartphones/galaxy-a/): the entry and mid-range line, from Rs. 25,499 up to Rs. 96,999. The 2025 and 2026 A3x and A5x models add IP67 and 45 W charging. The A0x, A1x and A2x models keep the price down with 25 W charging and IP54 or IP64 ratings.
- [Galaxy M](/smartphones/galaxy-m/): value 5G phones with 5,000 mAh batteries that overlap with the cheaper A models on specs and price. Compare the Samsung Galaxy M17 5G with the A17 5G, and the M36 5G with the A36 5G, before you buy.
Do you need a 5G phone in Nepal?
Every Samsung phone on sale here except the A07 and A08 supports 5G. The cheapest is the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G at Rs. 41,999.
As of late June 2026, 5G was not commercially available in Nepal. The Nepal Telecommunications Authority said it was ready to auction 5G spectrum, and Nepal Telecom said it would start in the big cities once it had frequencies. So 5G is not a reason to pay more today. It is worth having if you keep a phone for four years or more, because operators may launch it while you still use the phone.

What to check before you buy
- Buy the official Nepal version. Phones imported by Samsung's authorised distributors carry the Nepal warranty. Samsung phones bought abroad, or grey imports sold here, are not covered by it.
- Check the IMEI in MDMS. Dial *#06# to see the IMEI, then enter it at mdms.nta.gov.np before you pay. NTA says buying or selling an unregistered phone is illegal, and unregistered phones can be cut off from mobile networks.
- Get a VAT bill and the warranty card. You need both for a warranty claim.
- Count update years from launch. A 2023 phone such as the A54 5G has fewer years of updates left than a 2026 model, even if it looks cheap.
- Mind the storage. The S26 FE has no card slot. The A07, A08, A17 5G, A27 5G and both M models take microSD cards up to 2 TB.

Where to buy and paying in instalments
Samsung phones reach Nepal through two authorised distributors. IMS has been Samsung's national distributor for mobile phones since 2001 and sells through IMS SMart outlets. Him Electronics became a second distributor in 2016; it runs Samsung Plaza and Samsung Smart Plaza showrooms and the samsungplaza.com.np online store. Most prices on this site come from Samsung Plaza listings, as our about page explains.
Both offer instalments, but the terms change with each campaign. In August 2024, IMS listed 0% EMI at its outlets for Samsung phones and tablets from 25,000 up, over 3 to 12 months with a 40% down payment, or 24 months with 30% down on Galaxy Z foldables. It asked for a citizenship copy and a guarantor rather than a credit card.
In 2026, Samsung Nepal advertised EMI of up to 24 months with the Galaxy S26 pre-orders in March, and Samsung Smart Plaza offered 24-month EMI across product categories when it opened its Imadol showroom in May. Before you sign, ask for the down payment, any processing fee and the total you will pay.

Questions and answers
Which is the best Samsung phone in Nepal right now?
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, from Rs. 2,24,999, for its 200 MP camera with 5x zoom, S Pen, 60 W charging and seven years of updates. For most people the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is better value, with IP67, 45 W charging and a 120 Hz AMOLED screen.
Which Samsung phone is best under 50,000 in Nepal?
The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G at Rs. 41,999. It is the only Samsung under 50,000 with a 120 Hz AMOLED screen, and it has 5G, 8 GB RAM and an OIS camera. If you want splash resistance, get the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G instead.
Which Samsung phone is best under 30,000?
The Samsung Galaxy A07, from Rs. 25,499, is the only Samsung phone under 30,000. It has a 6.7-inch 90 Hz screen, a 5,000 mAh battery and six years of updates, but no 5G.
Which Samsung phone has the best camera?
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, with a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP 5x periscope, a 10 MP 3x telephoto and a 50 MP ultra-wide. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has the same layout for less. Under 1 lakh, the A36, A56 and A57 all have a 50 MP main camera with OIS.
Which Samsung phone has the biggest battery?
The Samsung Galaxy A08, with 6,000 mAh. Every other Samsung phone on sale in Nepal has 5,000 mAh or less. Among 5,000 mAh phones, the S26 Ultra charges fastest at 60 W.
Is Galaxy A or Galaxy M better?
They overlap. M models often cost less for similar specs; A models more often add water resistance. The M36 5G has no IP rating, while the A36 5G has IP67 and 45 W charging for a little more.
How many years of updates do Samsung phones get?
In our data, every current Galaxy S and Z phone gets seven years of OS and security updates, and the A and M phones get six (the 2023 A54 5G gets fewer). The years count from each model's launch, so a 2026 model is supported longer than a 2025 one.
Is it safe to buy a grey-market Samsung phone to save money?
It is risky. A phone bought abroad or imported unofficially gets no Samsung warranty in Nepal, and if its IMEI is not registered with NTA it can be cut off from mobile networks. See our guide to checking a phone is official.
Can I buy a Samsung phone on EMI in Nepal?
Yes. Authorised sellers have offered 0% EMI and plans of up to 24 months, with terms that change by campaign. Expect a down payment and documents such as a citizenship copy, and ask for the total cost before you sign.
Do Samsung phones come with a charger in Nepal?
No. The box has the phone, a USB-C cable and a SIM ejection pin, plus the S Pen with the Ultra models. You need a USB-C charger of your own; buy one rated for your phone's charging speed.
Should I wait for the Galaxy S27?
Only if you can wait until 2027. The S27 series has not been announced, and the S26 Ultra already charges at the 60 W reported for the S27 Ultra. See upcoming Samsung phones in Nepal.
